Through collaborative efforts with the P-SCIP pharmacy workgroup, hydroxyurea can now be prescribed for 102 days. We have found that if families are able to receive an extended prescription, this can often improve adherence. Many pharmacies also offer delivery options for medications. When speaking with families about their hydroxyurea management, please consider these factors as ways to support them.
